For the world's largest heavy metal festival, Air Decor created one of the most iconic visual landmarks of the entire festival site: monumental inflatable Wacken Open Air logos installed above the main entrance areas on top of stacked 40-foot shipping containers.
Visible from long distances across the festival grounds, the oversized installations became powerful architectural eyecatchers welcoming tens of thousands of metal fans to the “Holy Ground.” Especially at night, the objects transformed into glowing sculptures through integrated warm-white internal LED illumination, creating a striking atmosphere that blended perfectly with the raw industrial aesthetic of Wacken Open Air.
The inflatable logos were manufactured from B1-certified Polyester 600 — a particularly heavy-duty and highly tear-resistant material specifically chosen for the demanding weather conditions and high wind load zones typical of Northern Germany. The combination of large surface areas, exposed positioning, and unpredictable festival weather required extensive engineering and structural calculations throughout the project.
To guarantee maximum operational safety, our structural engineers developed the complete stability verification in combination with the container substructure. Wind loads, attachment systems, load transfer into the container architecture, and long-term outdoor durability were all precisely calculated and technically validated for festival operation.
Beyond their technical complexity, the installations became emotional symbols for the festival itself — monumental, loud, unmistakable, and instantly recognizable for every arriving visitor. The combination of inflatable architecture, integrated lighting, and industrial staging created a visual identity perfectly aligned with the spirit of Wacken Open Air.
For the upcoming Wacken Open Air 2026 edition — featuring major acts such as Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Powerwolf, In Flames, and many more — the festival once again continues its legacy as the global center of heavy metal culture, welcoming more than 85,000 fans from around the world.
Projects like this demonstrate how inflatable structures can become far more than branding elements. At Wacken Open Air, they became part of the arrival experience, part of the atmosphere, and part of the identity of one of the most legendary festivals in the world.
For Marlon Hoffstadt's “Daddycation” show concept, Air Decor designed and produced a custom inflatable stage installation that became the visual centerpiece of one of the most talked-about electronic music events of the year.
The premiere took place during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) at the legendary Gashouder in Amsterdam. Inside the completely sold-out venue, the atmosphere was extraordinary: on a Wednesday afternoon, thousands of fans erupted with an energy and intensity rarely experienced even at major arena concerts. The reaction of the crowd felt almost historic — a moment that perfectly reflected Marlon Hoffstadt's rapid rise as one of the new superstars of electronic music.
Positioned directly around the DJ booth, the inflatable installation became the defining visual element of the show. Internally illuminated and fully integrated into the lighting and production design, the structure transformed the stage into an immersive performance environment that amplified the emotional intensity of the entire experience.
The inflatable was manufactured from B1-certified flame-retardant polyester and engineered specifically for large-scale live productions. Continuous-air technology and precisely developed internal air chamber systems ensured permanent stability, clean geometry, and consistent visual quality throughout the performance.
Due to its central role within the stage setup, the installation required close technical coordination between staging, lighting, and show production teams. The result was far more than a decorative object — it became part of the identity of the Daddycation experience itself.
Projects like this show how inflatable architecture can shape atmosphere, emotion, and audience connection at the highest level of live entertainment.
For Kontra K's arena tour across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Air Decor developed and realized a monumental inflatable stage environment that transformed the live show into an immersive visual narrative.
At the center of the stage design stood a massive cut tree trunk, surrounded by an expansive landscape of oversized roots spreading across the entire stage architecture. The sculptural environment symbolized themes deeply connected to Kontra K's music: resilience, origin, struggle, growth, and inner strength. Rather than functioning as a traditional backdrop, the stage became a physical extension of the artist's emotional and lyrical world.
The complete scenic installation was manufactured as an inflatable structure using B1-certified flame-retardant polyester, engineered specifically for the requirements of large-scale arena touring. Combining lightweight construction with monumental dimensions allowed the production to achieve an impressive visual scale while remaining transportable and tour-compatible throughout multiple venues and countries.
From the earliest concept phase onward, Air Decor accompanied the entire production process — including technical planning, fabrication, logistics, installation workflows, touring support, dismantling, and the final storage of the stage elements after the tour. Working closely alongside the artist, the creative departments, and the touring crew, every detail of the inflatable architecture was developed to integrate seamlessly into the overall production design.
The complexity of the stage environment required extensive technical coordination. Pattern development, internal air chamber systems, structural reinforcement, inflation management, transportation planning, and rapid arena installation processes all had to function with precision under demanding touring conditions. Despite its enormous dimensions, the inflatable construction enabled efficient setup and consistent visual quality throughout the entire tour.
The emotional impact of the design was further amplified through the outstanding show and lighting design by Bertil Mark, whose cinematic lighting transformed the root landscape into a living stage world night after night. Together, stage architecture, light, music, and performance merged into one immersive experience for tens of thousands of fans in sold-out arenas.
Projects like this demonstrate the potential of inflatable architecture far beyond conventional event decoration. For Kontra K's tour, the result was a stage design that carried emotional depth, technical precision, and artistic storytelling equally — creating an unforgettable atmosphere that resonated far beyond the music itself.
For the sold-out 6PM Festival in Frankfurt, Air Decor realized an extraordinary large-scale inflatable stage design that redefined the visual identity of the event. Measuring approximately 48 meters wide and 12 meters high, the installation became the largest inflatable stage design ever installed in Germany.
Designed entirely in the unmistakable visual language of 6PM, the stage architecture transformed the festival grounds into an oversized immersive brand world. At the center of the structure stood a monumental three-dimensional 6PM logo, seamlessly integrated into the inflatable stage façade and visible across the entire venue. To incorporate the festival's partnership with Spotify, an additional oversized chain element inspired by Spotify's branding was attached directly to the central logo — creating a striking visual detail that connects both brands naturally within the overall artistic concept.
The complete structure was manufactured using B1-certified flame-retardant polyester and engineered specifically for the demanding requirements of large-scale outdoor live events. In total, more than 3,600 square meters of printed fabric were processed throughout production, making the installation exceptional not only in appearance, but also in technical scale and manufacturing complexity.
Due to the dimensions of the inflatable architecture, extensive technical planning and structural engineering were required throughout every project phase. From digital design development and precision pattern construction to air pressure management, load distribution, transportation logistics, and on-site installation, every component had to function as part of one coordinated system.
The scale of the project created an entirely new spatial experience for visitors. Rather than serving as a conventional stage backdrop, the inflatable structure became the defining architectural centerpiece of the festival itself — bold, immersive, and instantly recognizable from every perspective within the venue. Designed by Sankt Robo.
Projects of this magnitude demonstrate how inflatable architecture can merge branding, engineering, and live entertainment into one unified experience. For 6PM Festival, the result was not simply a stage design, but a monumental visual statement that shaped the atmosphere of the entire event.
For one of the world's most iconic music festivals, Air Decor brought a monumental creature to life: a terrifying Cthulhu inflatable created for Wacken Open Air — the largest heavy metal festival in the world.
Designed to dominate the festival grounds with an intense and immersive presence, the giant structure combined striking visual impact with sophisticated engineering and technical precision. Manufactured from certified B1 flame-retardant polyester, the inflatable was specifically developed to meet the demanding safety requirements of large-scale live events while maintaining maximum durability and visual quality.
One of the project's defining features was its internally ballasted construction. By integrating the ballast system directly into the structure, the installation could completely avoid visible external guy ropes, creating a far more realistic and dramatic appearance for visitors while preserving clear sightlines throughout the festival environment.
To ensure permanent stability and consistent form under varying outdoor conditions, the object was equipped with an internal continuous-air inflation system. Due to the scale and complexity of the installation, our structural engineers carried out the complete stability analysis and provided the official structural safety verification required for operation at a major international event of this size.
Projects like this represent the intersection of art, engineering, and live entertainment — transforming technical expertise into unforgettable visual experiences for tens of thousands of festival visitors.
At Wacken Open Air, the result was more than just a stage element: it became part of the atmosphere, the storytelling, and the identity of the event itself.

From concept to jungle skyline — our work travels the world.
This week, Air Decor brought a monumental inflatable installation to life for Nichtmusik at the legendary Zamna Festival in the heart of the Mexican jungle.
Together with our crew, we traveled to Tulum to oversee every stage of the project — from the initial creative vision to the final on-site installation. Rising 17 meters above the festival grounds, the iconic Peace Kloud became a breathtaking centerpiece, creating unforgettable moments and an extraordinary atmosphere in front of a sold-out audience.
Beyond manufacturing the inflatable itself, Air Decor manages the complete technical and logistical execution of the project, including structural engineering, international transportation, customs clearance, installation, and dismantling. The transport was coordinated via Frankfurt Airport in close collaboration with our logistics partner Heed! Event logistics.
What makes projects like this truly special is the seamless collaboration between international teams, local organizers, and our experienced production crew. The installation not only transformed the live experience in Tulum — it now continues its journey digitally, spreading across online media and social networks with a reach of millions worldwide.
Desert conditions. Extreme wind loads. A global audience.
This is exactly where iconic engineering begins.
For HUGEL's performances at Coachella 2026, Air Decor delivered a fully inflatable stage landmark that redefined scale and visual storytelling: a pair of hyperrealistic legs rising 12 meters above the artist and transforming the entire show into a surreal architectural statement.
What made this installation so powerful was the relationship between monumentality and emotion.
Standing beneath the structure, the artist appeared almost miniature — creating an unforgettable sense of scale that instantly elevated the stage from performance environment to cultural image. It was not simply a scenic element; it became the visual identity of the show itself.
Behind this viral image stood serious engineering.
Designed specifically for the harsh realities of the Californian desert, the inflatable structure was statically engineered for wind speeds of up to 80 km/h. During the live performance, these tolerances were fully challenged as strong winds and sandstorm conditions moved across the festival grounds.
To guarantee structural stability under these extreme circumstances, the installation integrated more than 4,000 kg of internal ballast through precisely positioned sandbag systems. The result was a monumental inflatable object capable of maintaining total presence, safety, and visual precision under maximum environmental stress.
What makes us especially proud is the operational efficiency behind a project of this scale.
The full installation was completed in less than 15 minutes, while dismantling took under 5 minutes — a combination of engineering foresight, logistics precision, and experienced on-site execution.
In front of 120,000 visitors on day one and amplified through hundreds of millions of views across livestreams and social media, this inflatable stage architecture became one of the defining visual moments of the festival.
For us at Air Decor, this project represents more than a spectacular result.
It demonstrates what happens when technical planning, structural expertise, rapid deployment, and emotionally unforgettable design work as one system.
